Essential Safety and Care Information

My Happy Helpers Learning Towers are a specifically designed piece of furniture that will safely raise your child to benchtop height, encouraging hands on interaction and undeniable learning opportunities. As you can imagine, a Learning Tower can also pose a large number of risks to your child if they are not professionally manufactured and do not comply with essential safety standards. Please take the time to read all the information on this page before using your tower for the first time.

  • Our Towers are designed to be used flush up against a solid structure such as kitchen cupboard, bathroom vanity etc.

They should not be used without this support structure in place.

  • Learning Towers should only be used when your child’s hips are below the top railing.

The Learning Tower must only be used under adult supervision. Your child must ALWAYS remain within arms reach.

  • Learning Towers are designed to be stood on. They are not designed to be played on, rocked on or lent out of. It is not designed to be used as a seat or a chair ( with the exception of the Tavolo when converted to a chair and table)

  • Learning Towers are not designed to be pushed or dragged along the floor. They are designed to remain in one place and be moved by an adult.

The Learning Tower is only to be used on flat surfaces.

The Safety bar should remain in place at all times.

  • The age recommendations are a guide only. Parents and guardians should use their discretion based on their child’s individual size and ability. A Learning Tower is not necessarily suitable for all Children and it is expected that a parent will determine whether their child is able to follow the guidelines set out on our website.

  • If your child is not developmentally ready to follow the instructions and use the learning tower as designed (without rocking, leaning, jumping or climbing on or in the structure) then we recommend it is removed from use until your Child is developmentally ready.

  • When trialling your child in the tower, we recommend lowering the step height to the middle step (if you have an adjustable tower) for the first few weeks. When you are comfortable that your child can use the tower appropriately, please adjust the step height back up to the most suitable level.

  • Prior to use, ensure all dangerous and poisonous items are out of reach. Also ensure the tower is not placed near any hot surfaces or items. It is also prudent to remove all things from peripheral reach to avoid your little one dangerously leaning or reaching from their tower.

Adjusting the Height

  • The Evo learning tower comes with 3 adjustable levels.  We recommend that the highest level be used for a child up to around the age of 2-2 ½ years old (or approximately 78-88 cms tall or weighing in the range of 12kgs – 14kgs).  While this is a guide it is important to remember that if your child’s hips are above the top of the learning tower then it is time to reduce the step height.

  • We recommend that the Fisso and Tavolo Tower be used for a child up to around the age of 2 ½ years old (or approximately 78-88 cms tall or weighing in the range of 12kgs – 14kgs).  While this is a guide it is important to remember that if your child’s hips are above the top of the learning tower then it is time to move to an adjustable version. We recommend measuring your child's leg height.

  • When first introducing your little one to a learning tower, please give them the time they need to learn to climb in under the safety bar. Arching their backs can be a learned movement for some children, others pick it up first go. Please refrain from lifting your child into the tower - this will discourage them from climbing in unassisted. Don't be disheartened if your little one wants to take their time learning to climb in - we are yet to have a child who hasnt mastered the art!

Cleaning and Care

  • Our Towers are UV painted - they are not damage proof. If your child is rough with objects on the tower, (using knives or spoons on the side of the tower as a drum for example) there is potential to cause damage to both the paint and the woodwork underneath. Please ensure you supervise your child as damage to paintwork and timber after assembly will not be covered under warranty.

  • Please clean your tower with a damp cloth. Do NOT use baby wipes as most baby wipes contain fragrance and thus small traces of alcohol which, over time will cause damage to the paintwork. A clean damp cloth is all that's required. If you have purchased an unpainted or unvarnished Tower, we strongly recommend sealing it before use. Any water based paint, or varnish is suitable however you can contact your local hardware store for specific advice if required.

  • Please ensure your tower is not exposed to water or left standing in puddles of water and if water is spilt onto the tower, please wipe dry asap. Damage caused from water or exposure to water will not be covered under warranty.
