At My Happy Helpers, we believe that every child needs a magical dose of pretend play thrown into every day.
Pretend play, also known as make believe, imaginative play or creative play, is a loosely structured form of symbolic play that generally includes role play, object substitution and non literal behaviour. Pretend play generally begins at around 11-18 months and starts to change into other types of play at around 10-12 years of age.
Fun Fact: Research has shown that preschoolers who had 'imaginary friends' tend to have greater imaginations and a bigger vocabulary than their peers. They were generally happier and got along better with children their own age.
We have a huge range of toys, activties and resources designed to spark your little ones imagination and help them to develop their own sense of pretend play in a way that is unique to them.
