Each rainbow is crafted from natural Beech wood, meaning every set will contain its own unique grain patterns, knots and subtle tonal variation.

These natural characteristics are not flaws — they are part of what makes handcrafted wooden toys beautifully individual and authentic. Because the arches are dyed rather than sealed beneath thick paint, some gentle colour variation or light colour transfer may occasionally occur during transit or early play. This is completely normal for this style of open-ended wooden toy and can typically be removed with a damp cloth.

The lightly textured finish is also intentional and highly valued within the open-ended play community because it helps provide improved grip and stacking stability during play.

Pastel rainbow

The pictures were a little unclear regarding the exact colour of the pastel rainbow. The green arch is a bright lime green rather than the softer look pictured in one of the photos. There was a bit of colour transfer on the arches but otherwise they look beautiful and look well made.

This is our first rainbow and we are in love. They are much bigger and so much lighter than we imagined. The wooden grain is beautiful. There is some very minor colour transfer issues on 2 of the pieces but that doesn't worry us. Will be buying the pastel rainbow next!

Kids haven't played with it yet because it's set aside for a Christmas present...but I've had a little play and I'm smitten with it myself! Other brands can only be stacked one way but this one can be done either way, and I love that you can order a replacement bow if one breaks (or gets eaten by the dog, which is inevitable in our house) too.
